Tizmoret, which is Hebrew for “orchestra,” is Queens College Hillel’s award winning Jewish a cappella group. Led by Jewish a cappella pioneer Daniel Henkin, the singing group has drawn college-aged singers from all over the New York City area for the past 19 years.
Tizmoret has been compared to the popular TV show “Glee” with songs ranging from traditional Jewish melodies to radio pop songs to contemporary Israeli tunes. Their six albums have received critical acclaim in both contemporary Jewish and secular a cappella circles, with several award-winning arrangements.
