FUNDRAISING REPORT

CBI Definitely has Talent!  Thanks to all who attended and supported our Gala which was so successful under the leadership of Pam LeCompte and Alice Ettinger and their committee.  This event could not have happened without the support of all of the CBI office and maintenance staff - thanks! Mazal tov to William Gross, voted CBI’s most talented performer.  A few people may  have been disappointed when they were not able to make last minute reservations.  We are sorry that we had to turn anyone away, but please understand that RSVP dates are important.  We have to give numbers to caterers and they need to place orders for food.  Next time- get your RSVP’s in early to avoid disappointment.  It is also courteous and helps the chair people plan events with ease.

Why buy SCRIP?  When you buy gift cards from CBI- there are no additional fees.  In many stores there is a processing fee to activate American Express and Visa gift cards.  There is NO Fee when you buy through our program.  The cards are like cash.  You can buy them to give as gifts.  You can also buy them for your own use for places you already go and spend money.   Do you go to CVS or Walgreens, Home Depot or Lowes, Michael’s or Joanne’s?  Seems most people have a favorite- keep a SCRIP CARD on hand for your favorite.  Pick one store that you frequent, buy a card and next time you visit there and pay with your SCRIP card feel good about having made a donation to CBI without paying anything extra.

Are you feeling Green?  I hope so, please bring your newspapers, magazines and catalogs to recycle in our containers in the back of the parking lot.  Please also bring your old cell phones and printer cartridges to CBI to recycle.  These items can all be turned into dollars for CBI.

Please let me know how we can do a better job of promoting our fund raising programs, especially the ones that don’t ask you for money.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Laurie Reiskind, Third Vice President, Fund Raising
