The library website’s underlying technology is the OPALS system (OPen-source Automated Library System) that not only enables access to the library onsite and from home, but also provides access to online resources such as the Jewish Virtual Library and the Jewish Theology Seminary Library among others. Parents and children can access the Jewish Learning Network, Jewish Kids, International Children’s Library, and PBS Kids. These resources are linked to the tabs on the library’s home page.

While the website’s technology allows you to check out a book online, the Buns Family Library is not staffed to oversee this activity. Currently, the only viable use of the website in CBI’s implementation is to identify the books in the library. You can use the website to locate a library book and then come to the library to borrow it.
