1:00 PM - 3:00 PMUSF SPCan religion heal the great divide?
They say faith has the power to heal. But in a time when human beings have never felt more socially isolated, fractured and contentious, can the curative effect of religious thought bridge such a deep socioeconomic and political divide?
On Tuesday, March 24th, wisdom teachers from a variety of faith traditions will gather to share, compare and explore the perspectives and possibilities of interfaith understanding. Please join us; as together, we’ll discuss these questions, share our thoughts, and move toward building a bridge of human kindness, acceptance, and intention in our desire to mend the fissures between us. Finding common ground, and the good, in all of our viewpoints.
The event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. To reserve your seat, please RSVP on Eventbrite.
This OPEN Conversation is brought to you in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Area Muslim Association, the City of St. Petersburg, and the Open Partnership Education Network (OPEN) at USF St. Petersburg.

Not everyone had an opportunity for Jewish education when they were 13 years old. Not everyone took college courses about Judaism. Now is the chance to begin again! All are welcome. This course is also suitable for those wishing to learn more about Judaism. Topics will include prayer, kashrut, blessings, parenting, Shabbat, festivals, God, Torah, Israel, women’s changing roles in synagogue life and so much more! Partnering with Women's League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ) and the Melton Research Center at JTS, the Etz Chayim He curriculum will be the starting point, but the full direction of the class will depend on you! Please contact Rabbi Weintraub for more details -
