If You Knew Sarah Like I Know Sarah

"If You Knew Sarah Like I Know Sarah...”

It’s often assumed that Judaism is rooted in patriarchal patterns set down in the Torah. In this course, we will confront this premise. We will examine events in the lives of notable biblical women, through textual study and discussion, to discover their critical roles and leadership in Judaism’s founding families, and how their lives and behaviors have relevance to our lives today.

Our first session will explore key events in the life of Sarah, who is a central character in the Rosh Hashanah Torah service.

No prior Biblical study or Hebrew is necessary. Source material will be made available prior to the class to those who register.

Source sheet available here.
