Congregation B’nai Israel of St.Petersburg invites everyone to our 7th annual Pride Shabbat | Friday, June 24 at 6pm
Come for a joyous and meaning prayer service followed by our signature cocktail reception.
Guest speaker: Rabbi Joshua Lesser of Bet Haverim, Atlanta, founded by LGBTQ Jews.
Rabbi Weintraub and Cantor Schultz are creating a special service with traditional and Broadway melodies to share joyous and meaningful prayer in an inclusive environment.
Afterwards we invite the entire community to the cocktail oneg reception. Dress vibrantly and bring friends!
• Saturday: traditional Shabbat morning service and a luncheon celebrating Pride.
• Sunday: CBI returns to the St. Pete Pride Festival with a booth on Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg. Come and help festival-goers learn about our congregation and invite them to visit.
• Support PRIDE at CBI with your donations.
We have a range of sponsorship levels. (see below) All donations will be recognized. Visit the donations page on our website or drop a check by the office. Contact Valerie Hyman for more information (727) 324-8022.

Talmud Unveiled: A Journey through Masechet Berachot This Fall we will be starting a new Talmud class covering Berachot (blessings) the first Tractate of the Talmud. Berachot covers a wide range of topics, including: the derivation of many of our prayers and blessings, rules relating to our prayers and the methodology of praying. The Talmud has been studied continuously for over 1500 years and today is explored daily by hundreds of thousands of Jews. The classes will be conducted in English, with no prior experience with the Talmud or knowledge of Hebrew or Aramaic necessary. Class resources will be provided. Questions and class participation are encouraged and new participants are welcome! The class will be conducted by Steve Wein, who has taught Talmud to all ages and backgrounds over the years. -
