Purim Carnival
Sunday, March 9, 2025 • 9 Adar 5785
10:00 AM - 1:00 PMJoin Congregation B'nai Israel & Congregation Beth Shalom on Sunday, March 9th from 10am - 1pm for a morning full of fun & games for all ages!
Please make sure to bring an item for Gulf Coast JFCS's Refugee Supply Drive for entry into the carnival. Items include -- but are not limited to -- household goods, hygiene items, & cleaning products.
There will be a bounce house, jousting, Purim crafts, face painting, food, sports, & more. And Tzedakah Jail will be returning! Make a donation to arrest a friend, family member, or clergy for crimes against fun.
You'll also be able to purchase snacks & build-your-own mishloach manot bags to give to a friend.
We'll start the morning off with an Early Childhood-friendly Purim story and end our celebration with "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Purim Edition"! So come to Congregation B'nai Israel for a Purim carnival to remember.

Talmud Unveiled: A Journey through Masechet Berachot This Fall we will be starting a new Talmud class covering Berachot (blessings) the first Tractate of the Talmud. Berachot covers a wide range of topics, including: the derivation of many of our prayers and blessings, rules relating to our prayers and the methodology of praying. The Talmud has been studied continuously for over 1500 years and today is explored daily by hundreds of thousands of Jews. The classes will be conducted in English, with no prior experience with the Talmud or knowledge of Hebrew or Aramaic necessary. Class resources will be provided. Questions and class participation are encouraged and new participants are welcome! The class will be conducted by Steve Wein, who has taught Talmud to all ages and backgrounds over the years. -
