Step 4: Drive home.
What to pack: sun hat, sunscreen, water bottle(s), bagged dairy lunch, money for the berries, shovels, sieves or sifters (if you have), towel, dry clothes, water shoes/flipflops for the beach
Schedule of the Day
9:30 - Approximate time to begin your drive. (Use Waze to be more accurate.)
11:00 - Arrive at Albritton farm. Gather together and get your buckets. Pick blueberries until you are done. Weigh berries, pay. In addition, there are sunflowers to pick and purchase; however, you need to bring your own scissors.
12:00 - Meet for lunch at the designated area (TBD).
12:45 - Drive approximately 30 minutes to Caspersan Beach. Grab a baggie and begin searching for shark teeth. Shovels, sieves and/or sifters can be helpful. If you have them, please bring. We will bring litter grabbers and trash bags in case you prefer to pick up trash. Head home any time you are ready to leave.
Additional Information:
1. At the farm, wear clothing appropriate for the sun and heat. Closed-toe shoes required. A fanny pack can hold your vitals and keep you hands-free.
2. At the beach, wear a bathing suit and/or shorts and a t-shirt. You will probably get very wet. The shirt will keep you from getting sunburned. Restrooms are available.
3. We need your RSVP so that we can know to look for you and to prepare enough dessert.
4. We will provide baggies for the shark teeth you collect.
5. If you don’t want to drive, please let us know and we will try to find a ride for you. If you are willing to be a driver, please let us know. We will first say “thank you” and then we will direct other members to you.
6. You are under no obligation to participate in the full day. You are welcome to just pick your berries and go home or just meet us at the beach.
You Must RSVP by Monday, April 1st.
