Dear Friends,
Despite living in a world of shifting sand, the calendar calls upon us to direct our focus to High Holiday Planning. Definitive decisions about In-person, virtual, or a combination of both are in flux because of the ever-rising Covid-19 numbers and the resulting uncertainty of what will happen in the weeks and months ahead of us. What we do know however, is that there will be a New Year and that each of us must be provided with the opportunity to be a participant in those observances in the most meaningful way possible. We also recognize that at a time when most people yearn for spiritual uplifting along with physical connection, the medical and Rabbinic authorities warn of the dangers and the need to preserve life. Yet one more time in our history when we are faced with a Jewish dilemma.
Staff, clergy, and lay leadership are working diligently to create a celebration that provides each of us with an opportunity to pray, study, and share community within the constraints of a pandemic. We are working to bring normalcy to a world gone haywire. We take seriously our responsibility to each of you, our congregants, to provide a High Holiday program that strengthens us as individuals and as a community. I am confident that we will be successful in our efforts to comfort you, sustain you, and provide you with much-needed hope for a better tomorrow.
I thank each of you who has already made their annual financial commitment and I ask those of you who have not yet “stepped” up to do so now. It is our AFC dollars that provide the where with all for us to operate and create an organization that remains strong into the years ahead. This year more than ever we need prayer, we need study, we need CBI. Continue to support us during this period of High Holiday preparation so as to ensure a strong future for a strong people. Please make your pledge by using this link. Pay all at once or in installments, via check, or credit card. CBI staff is available to help.
In gratitude,
Dorothy

Not everyone had an opportunity for Jewish education when they were 13 years old. Not everyone took college courses about Judaism. Now is the chance to begin again! All are welcome. This course is also suitable for those wishing to learn more about Judaism. Topics will include prayer, kashrut, blessings, parenting, Shabbat, festivals, God, Torah, Israel, women’s changing roles in synagogue life and so much more! Partnering with Women's League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ) and the Melton Research Center at JTS, the Etz Chayim He curriculum will be the starting point, but the full direction of the class will depend on you! Please contact Rabbi Weintraub for more details -
