Social Action Club
Tuesday, September 8 at 7:00 pm
The Hate U Give is Angie Thomas's first novel about a teenage girl who grapples with racism, police brutality, and activism. She is constantly switching between two worlds -- the poor, mostly black neighborhood where she lives and the wealthy, mostly white prep school that she attends. After witnessing the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer, Starr must find her voice and decide to stand up for what's right.
Our Social Action club invites you to read this novel and discuss it in a moderation virtual book club. This novel is available in print and for e-readers. Short on time? The Hate U Give is also a movie!
